About Me

My name is Tiffany Washington, and this is my 18th year of teaching. I am originally from South Carolina; however, I completed my undergraduate studies at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am working towards completing my Master's in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities. I enjoy traveling internationally, exploring new cultures, learning new conversational languages, Latin dancing, and astro-photography. During my spare time, I serve many communities across the globe for my Non-Profit organization called "Humanity-on-the-Go". Through the organization, I donate school supplies to economically challenged areas. My most recent trip was to a grade school located in Havana, Cuba.

It is often said that the classroom is a place where miracles happen. It is a place where students with unique personalities, different learning styles and varying abilities come together. As a Special Education teacher, I chose this profession because I want to be a part of the miracle team. Out of one in a million, my personal professional mission is to be a "special breed" who has chosen to make the nurturing of young people my vocation. I believe that "helping students live up to their potential is how I as a professional educator, live up to mine.
